THE DAILY ROLL
  • Ichiro passes Edgar and the M’s win in interesting fashion again
    April 2, 2011 11:34 pm

Another interesting game for the Mariners who beat the A’s 5-2. The pitching stood out as the good with Jason Vargas picking up where he left off last year throwing 6 2/3 innings of one run ball. We had our first appearance of the bullpen with the skipper electing to go with the veterans with […]

  • From Opening Night to game 2
    April 2, 2011 10:47 am

Last night was fun. Or funny. I still can’t decide which one. It isn’t every day let alone Opening Day that you see a team commit five errors, but hey, that’s baseball as they say. You have got to take what you get and the Mariners had no problem doing that. They knew what to […]

  • What will we see from the 2011 Mariners?
    April 1, 2011 1:26 am

I am not big on predictions . I can’t tell you how many games this team will win or lose . I can’t guarantee that something glorious won’t happen despite what we see before us right now both with what the Mariners will take forward into the season and what the competition will be.

  • Aardsma and Pineda throw, lineup posted
    March 31, 2011 2:50 pm

Some quick notes from the Mariners workout which is underway right now in Oakland . First of all, beautiful day . Mid 80’s not a cloud in the sky.

  • Mariners finalize 25-man roster
    March 30, 2011 11:29 pm

It was a very crowed clubhouse with the minor leaguers in temporary lockers in the middle of a very cramped space and travel bags strewn across the floor. As the guys hurried to get dressed and try to catch the early bus to the airport two guys were a little slower in getting ready. Luis […]

  • Gutierrez left in AZ, Aardsma on the mend
    March 30, 2011 6:07 pm

While most of the Mariners are here in Los Angeles a few are not . Felix Hernandez was sent ahead to Oakland so he can get extra rest before Opening Day.

  • Lineup vs Dodgers
    March 30, 2011 11:00 am

Well the bags are all packed and three busses sit outside the the door to the clubhouse ready to take the Mariners to the airport to head to LA for tonight’s game against the Dodgers. The final lineup looks like this… Ichiro 9 Figgins 4 Bradley 7 Cust DH Smoak 3 Langerhans 8 Ryan 6 […]

  • Gutierrez plays catch and the M’s win a game
    March 29, 2011 4:40 pm

A busy day as we all but got the final roster when Jack Zduriencik announced this morning that Cesar Jimenez had been outrighted to Tacoma and that Tom Wilhelmsen, Aaron Laffey and Josh Lueke had been told that they made the team. Wilhelmsen was a long shot coming in having never pitched above the A […]

  • No roster but they have 25
    March 29, 2011 11:09 am

Jack Zduriencik has announced that Cesar Jimenez has cleared waivers and has been sent to Triple-A Tacoma. The move leaves 30 in camp, 25 of which are healthy. “Procedural issues” keep Zduriencik from announcing the final 25 but he has told Tom Wilhemsen, Josh Lueke and Aaron Laffey that they have made the club. The […]

  • Final day for Mariners in Peoria
    March 29, 2011 9:41 am

The center aisle of the clubhouse is now overflowing with bags and boxes, bikes and children’s toys as the truck will be packed up later this morning and on it’s way to Seattle shortly after. The team plays it’s final Cactus League game of the spring today in Scottsdale against the Rockies, then tomorrow will […]
