ROOT Sports’ Mike Blowers told “Bob, Groz and Tom” that getting things going on the base paths could be a boon for the Mariners offense that has struggled since returning home last week.

After details came out about Russell Okung’s contract with Denver, John Clayton said it could be the “worst contract for a sub-30, Pro Bowl-caliber player maybe ever done in free agency.”

Dave Cameron of FanGraphs said the Mariners could possibly make a run in the next two or three years, but the window will close when stars Felix Hernandez, Robinson Cano and Nelson Cruz are no longer in their prime.

Young Mariners righty Taijuan Walker was dominant in the second half of 2015 and has been working to improve his breaking ball over the offseason.

“I don’t think it’s how you’re going to build an O-line in the NFL,” former Seahawks center Robbie Tobeck said about the team’s method of converting defensive linemen.

Fred Jackson is expected to remain the Seahawks’ third-down running back with Thomas Rawls lost for the season with an ankle, injury, but he told “Bob, Groz and Tom” that he’s ready for whatever the team needs.

So far Tyler Lockett’s hands have looked plenty solid, if not spectacular, hauling in 35 catches with only one drop in his rookie year with the Seahawks.
