No roster but they have 25

Jack Zduriencik has announced that Cesar Jimenez has cleared waivers and has been sent to Triple-A Tacoma.

The move leaves 30 in camp, 25 of which are healthy. “Procedural issues” keep Zduriencik from announcing the final 25 but he has told Tom Wilhemsen, Josh Lueke and Aaron Laffey that they have made the club.

The final move most likely will be to put Mauricio Robles on the 60-day DL to open one last 40-man spot and the deadline to do that is Thursday morning. Zduriencik also allowed for the possibility that something could happen between now and then that would bring a player from outside the organization to the team either by trade or waiver pick up but said, “At this moment in time, pretty much the roster is set, but we will see. Keep your ears open.”

One other piece of news from Zduriencik was that as suspected Franklin Gutierrez will start the season on the disabled list. He worked out today and felt good but he won’t be ready for the regular season. He still does not have a diagnosis for what has been causing him stomach problems but has had what Eric Wedge called three good days in a row and appears to be progressing in the right direction. He will be eligible to come off the DL as early as April 6th.
