Mariners spring training is in full swing, as are player interviews on 710 ESPN Seattle shows. Here are some quick highlights and links to podcasts of interviews with four players who were on the air in the last week.

Pitcher James Paxton, who joined “Bob, Groz and Tom,” shared some insight on his offseason weight loss and what his mentality is as he fights for a role on the Opening Day roster after a pair of injury-plagued seasons.

Outfielder Seth Smith, who has played for four teams over eight years in the MLB, talked to “Danny, Dave and Moore” about his reaction to the myriad of changes that have happened both in the front office and in the clubhouse for Seattle since last season.

Utility player Shawn O’Malley spoke to “Danny, Dave and Moore” about his roots in the Tri Cities and shared a story about how he nearly walked away from the game but instead was convinced to keep going.

Outfielder Boog Powell jumped on with “Danny, Dave and Moore” to talk about being excited to join the Mariners after being traded from Tampa Bay and what his motivations are in spring training as one of the organization’s most highly-touted prospects.
