There has yet to be a formal announcement from either the Seahawks or Marshawn Lynch that he intends to retire, but that’s all that’s missing at this point.

Lynch’s agent, Doug Hendrickson, confirmed to the Associated Press that the running back is indeed hanging up his cleats after nine seasons in the NFL, plans that Lynch hinted at but did not state definitively in a tweet during the fourth quarter of the Super Bowl on Sunday.

Hendrickson then thanked Lynch in a tweet on Monday.

Hendrickson’s confirmation followed several tributes from the Seahawks, many of whom took to Twitter on Sunday to honor their teammate. Owner Paul Allen did the same, and on Monday, the Seahawks thanked Lynch with a video featuring highlights of his six seasons with the team.
