Seahawks sign one-time Husky Josh Shirley to futures contract

The Seahawks have signed one-time University of Washington pass-rusher Josh Shirley to a 2016 futures contract, according to the NFL’s transaction report.

Shirley spent his first three seasons with the Huskies, registering 18 sacks, before transferring to UNLV for his senior season. He signed with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent last year, spent the offseason and preseason with Oakland and appeared in five games with Tampa Bay, recording two tackles.

Shirley had two sacks during the preseason with Oakland, including one against the Seahawks in the final game.

He’s listed at 6-feet-1 and 235 pounds.

The Seahawks have now signed 17 players to futures contracts for 2016. The other 16 can be found here.
