Mariners release Josh Wilson

Update: The moves are coming fast and furiously. The 40-man is now back at 40 as the team purchased the contract of Adam Kennedy and placed him on the 40-man roster. It would appear that two spots will need to be created, one for Ryan Langerhans and one for Luis Rodriguez or whoever they might pick up on the waiver wire.

And then there were 39.

The Mariners have released Josh Wilson, so the 40-man roster is back at 39 and it would appear that Luis Rodriguez has made the team. Matt Mangini remains in camp but he has been sidelined with a leg injury. Assuming that Franklin Gutierrez starts the season on the DL then all remaining position players in camp make the team baring a last minute waiver pick up.

This brings the final battle down to the bullpen. The Mariners have until 9 a.m. PST Thursday morning to set their Opening Day roster.
