4/13: Michael Saunders should play every day

Saunders

–Jason Churchill of Prospect Insider wrote before last night’s Mariners’ win over the Blue Jays that Michael Saunders should be playing every day. Churchill: “I think they need to sit Ryan Langerhans and Milton (Bradley) and let Saunders play every day. Every day. Not five days out of seven or six in a 7-game week — every single day.”

–Shannon Drayer of 710 ESPN Seattle/710Sports.com has audio of her conversation with Mariners pitcher Michael Pineda, who earned his first major-league win Tuesday.

–John Boyle of The Everett Herald writes about Blue Jays outfielder Travis Snider’s homecoming. The Mill Creek native who graduated from Jackson High School in 2006 hadn’t played at Safeco Field until this week.

–Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times writes that defensive tackle Alameda Ta’amu, who flashed dominance late last season, is entering his senior senior at Washington as the “unquestioned anchor of the Huskies defense.”

–Scott M. Johnson of The Everett Herald writes that UW coach Steve Sarkisian isn’t worried about the Huskies’ thin offensive line. Washington lost three starters from the offensive line last season, and starting left tackle Senio Kelemete is sitting out spring practices with plantar fasciitis.
