4/18: Peter King says Seahawks want to trade down

–Sports Illustrated’s Peter King writes in his Monday Morning Quarterback column that “Seattle wants to trade down so bad from 25 that John Schneider can taste it.”

–The latest mock draft from Rob Rang of NFL Draft Scout has the Seahawks taking Colorado cornerback Jimmy Smith with the 25th pick and Iowa DE Christian Ballard with the 57th pick. Rang has Jake Locker going No. 8 to Tennessee.

–Chad Reuter, also of NFL Draft Scout, has the Seahawks taking Locker at 25 and Florida State center Rodney Hudson at 57.

–Mike Sando of ESPN.com looks at all the quarterbacks NFC West teams have drafted over the last 15 years.

–The latest mock draft from Nolan Nawrocki of Pro Football Weekly has the Seahawks taking Andy Dalton in the first round. Nawrocki: “Matt Hasselbeck remains unsigned and has struggled to play a full season. Dalton is a quick-triggered, West Coast passer ideally suited for the offense of new coordinator Darrell Bevell. If there is a run on quarterbacks early, Dalton has a chance to sneak into the first round and could become the future in Seattle.”

Lookout Landing notes that Mariners’ starters entered Sunday’s win over the Royals with the lowest percentage of balls thrown (35 percent).
