4/20: Hasselbeck wants at least a 2-year deal

–710 ESPN Seattle’s Jim Moore caught up with Matt Hasselbeck at a charity bowling event Monday and writes on Seattlepi.com that while Hasselbeck says he still wants to re-sign with the Seahawks, he was adament that he wants at least a two-year deal.

Hasselbeck: “At our house, my family’s all on the same page. I really hope we don’t have to go somewhere else. The decision will be made more on what’s good for the kids, what’s good for my wife more than an emblem on the helmet. I’m not at all offended that we didn’t get a deal done before the lockout or the fact that they’re on a mission to find a young quarterback.”

-I asked former NFL coach Jon Gruden in a confernce call Tuesday which quarterback in the draft he thinks would be the best fit for the Seahawks’ offense. Gruden said he isn’t sure they’ll be taking a quarterback with the 25th pick. “I don’t know that they don’t stay with (Matt) Hasselbeck and try to build their football team in other areas,” he said.

–Mike Sando of ESPN.com analyzes the Seahawks’ 2011 schedule, as does 710 ESPN Seattle’s Brock Huard.

–Larry Larue of The Tacoma News Tribune writes after the Mariners’ 13-3 win over the Tigers on Tuesday that Eric Wedge believes the team is beginning to understand the approach he wants them to have at the plate.

–Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times writes that Washington kicker Erik Folk is working to fix mechanical problems that led to his late-season struggles in 2010. Folk was 7-for-7 in the Huskies’ first four games of 2010 and just 6-of-13 in the last nine. Condotta: “Looking up too early can throw the trajectory of the kick off just enough to send it a little wide, similar to a golfer lifting his head too quickly out of his swing. ‘That was definitely a problem later in the year,’ Folk said.”

Terrence Jones is one of three Kentucky players to declare for the NBA draft. None have hired an agent.
