4/26: Comparing Brad Wilkerson and Jack Cust

–Ryan Divish of The Tacoma News Tribune compares Mariners DH Jack Cust to Brad Wilkerson, who got off to a miserable start in 2008 and was designated for assignment in late April. Divish notes that at similar points in their respective seasons, Cust’s numbers are worse than Wilkerson’s.

–Larry Stone of The Seattle Times profiles Mariners pitcher Jamey Wright, who’s pitched for 10 teams in 19 professional seasons. Stone: “Now his perseverance seems to have finally found him a home in Seattle’s bullpen, one of the Mariners’ few pleasant developments. But at age 36, having made the complete transition from fireballing prospect to wizened veteran, Wright knows better than to assume anything.”

–Larry Larue of The Tacoma News Tribune writes that Mariners utility infielder Adam Kennedy has made a habit of having to make teams out of spring training as a non-roster invitee.

–Sam Farmer of The Los Angeles Times tweets that “When the dust settles, I think there’s a good chance Carson Palmer winds up in Seattle.”

–Danny O’Neil of The Seattle Times writes that while the Seahawks have neglected to take a quarterback in recent drafts, they might not be able to do so this year.
