5/6: Prediction has Seahawks landing Kevin Kolb

–Jason La Canfora of the NFL Network takes a shot at predicting where notable quarterbacks will end up next season. La Canfora thinks Kevin Kolb will be a Seahawk and Matt Hasselbeck a Dolphin.

La Canfora: “If I’m handicapping the quarterback derby, I’d give Kevin Kolb to the Seahawks, Marc Bulger to the Cardinals, Donovan McNabb to the Vikings, Alex Smith to the 49ers and Matt Hasselbeck to the Dolphins. Still wonder if Vince Young makes sense for the Redskins as a developmental guy to go with John Beck, who is a developmental guy himself at this point. Rex Grossman could find himself back in that mix as well once McNabb is traded or released.”

–Mike Sando of ESPN.com lists six NFC West rookies that could have an early impact. No Seahawks made the list.

–Paul Kuharsky of ESPN.com examines the factors that will go into the Titans’ decision on when to start Jake Locker.

–Geoff Baker of The Seattle Times writes that while Justin Smoak and Jason Vargas had huge impacts in last night’s win, the real story was the Mariners’ defense.

Baker: “I thought the biggest defensive play of the night came from Vargas himself. Ian Kinsler had just doubled home a run with one out in the eighth in a 3-1 game when Elvis Andrus tried to bunt for a hit. Vargas raced for the ball in the grass, third base side of his mound, then pivoted and threw a rocket to first base. It got there a split-second ahead of Andrus or else there could have been big problems that inning.”
