Maryland is interested in filling the head coaching vacancy on its men’s basketball team with Arizona’s Sean Miller, sources tell The Washington Post.

According to Eric Prisbell and Steve Yanda of The Washington Post, “individuals with connections either to the school or the coach” say there is mutual interest between the school and Miller to replace Gary Williams, who retired Thursday after 22 seasons as Maryland’s head coach.

Two of those sources told The Washington Post that members of Maryland’s athletic department told them athletic director Kevin Anderson was expected to travel and meet with Miller.

Miller was the Pac-10 coach of the year last season, which was his second at Arizona. Prior to that, he spent five seasons as the head coach at Xavier.
