Seahawks linebacker Bruce Irvin will sign with the Raiders, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, who both reported Tuesday night that he’ll sign his deal when the new league year begins Wednesday.

Irvin is one of seven Seahawks starters who are set to become unresricted free agents. It’s not at all a surprise that he’s is leaving Seattle, the team that drafted him 15th overall in 2012. In fact, that was the expectation. What is somewhat surprising, though, is the team he has reportedly picked as Oakland was not considered as likely a destination as Jacksonville and Atlanta.

Irvin will reunite in Oakland with former Seahawks linebacker Malcolm Smith as well as his former position coach in Seattle, Ken Norton Jr., who is now the Raiders’ defensive coordinator.
