Getting Ready

It’s now 5:20 a.m. day of the game and I’m up already. I’m checking the MLS news. Boy, a year ago and wouldn’t have imagined I’d be this stoked for a soccer match. But here we are. The more I get to know the coaches, players and soccer community the more I wish for their success. It was heart breaking for me to see professional basketball leave town, a legacy of 41 years blow away like old newspapers. I won’t be able to use that analogy much longer. But now its soccer’s turn again in this city and this time with some financial backing and a lot of brain power. It’s been great hanging out at Sounders practice with Alan Hinton and Pete Fewing. They have been very generous with the knowledge and passion for the game. Greg Vanney my broadcast partner will keep me on track. And Sigi, Adrian and Chris Henderson couldn’t be better ambassadors for the game. Best of luck to all you guys.

Our broadcast will get underway with the pregame beginning at 5:30. Matt Johnson, self professed soccer nut, will host joined by a cast of Alan Hinton, Cliff McCrath and Pete Fewing. That should be a spirited discussion and a great way to get tuned up for the game on the commute in. Hope you will listen and give us feed back on the broadcast.
