3:01 – Kevin thinks Yuniesky Betancourt completely missed the boat on Ichiro’s bunt last night, despite reports that Don Wakamatsu is covering for Ichiro on the missed signal.

3:10 – Clare Farnsworth, 710 ESPN Seattle Insider doesn’t necessarily think Yunkiesky Betancourt should be benched, and wonders who Wakamatsu is covering for in his comments on the missed signal.

3:43 – Jarrod Washburn, Mariners P says that Betancourt has made a few absent-minded mistakes lately, and defends Ichiro as a special player. He also thinks that Seattle should take Aaron Curry if he’s still there at #4, and Eugene Monroe if not.

3:55 – Kevin and Clare give their final thoughts on the Mariners. Kevin contends that Betancourt is to blame for the missed signal last night.

4:01 – Kevin thinks that character is a strong component in choosing a draft pick, though many GM’s and owners don’t consider it enough in making their selections.

5:01 – Kevin thought it was time to sit Yuniesky Betancourt on Monday…and last night, his point was proven. Though some were conviced it was Ichiro that Don Wakamatsu was convering for.

5:10 – Mike Blowers, Mariners PxP says that if Don Wakamatsu says it was a signal miscommunication, then that’s all it was – he takes them at their word. Kevin, though, contends that you MUST treat this point in the season just as though it is the last week in the season. Mike agrees, echoing Kevin’s point that it’s now or never to take control of their division. Right now the team is awesome to be around, but the key is to keep winning.
