Washington State head coach Ken Bone said Thursday that forward DeAngelo Casto might play professionally in Europe instead of returning for his senior season, calling the chances of either option “50-50.”

“He’s got a child now and he has no money whatsoever. He has no real family support,” Bone said on the Calabro show. “So there’s been those thoughts. I’m just saying there’s a chance he won’t be around. We’re hoping he is. We think he will be, but it’s not a for sure thing.”

Casto averaged 12.1 points per game and a team-high 6.8 rebounds this season. He was a second-team All-Pac-10 selection and was named to the conference’s all-defensive team.

Casto had 14 points, seven rebounds and four blocks in Washington State’s NIT win over Long Beach St. on Wednesday.

“If he’s not there (next season), we don’t have that presence in the paint on either end of the court right now,” Bone said.

Bone also said he thinks the chances of junior guard Klay Thompson returning are 50-50.
