Jason Gesser joins the coaching staff at WSU

Cougar great Jason Gesser is taking a position as an “off the field assistant” with WSU starting this summer, according to this article on Cougfan.com.

Apparently, the particulars were hashed out recently by Gesser and Paul Wulff, and the position he’ll be taking has yet to even have a title.

All that really matters is that Gesser, a true Cougar die-hard and tireless supporter of the program, is now officially a part of the coaching staff and there’s no doubting that it’s a very good thing for this team.

Gesser has spent the past two seasons as head coach at Eastside Catholic, but his enthusiasm and potential recruiting ability may be even more important to the program at this point than his coaching.

Since Gesser left WSU after his senior season in 2002, he’s made many public comments about his desire to return as part of the coaching staff and now he’s given up a lot to do it, including his gigs at Eastside Catholic and Fox Sports NW/Root Sports.

Congratulations Jason and Go Cougs!
