Sounders to open up more seats for fans

Beginning June 28, there will be more seats available for
Seattle Sounders FC fans at Qwest Field.

The team says it will open up seating in the south end
zone of Qwest Field starting with the June 28 game against
Colorado, increasing capacity to about 32,000. The seating
will be similar to the Sounders first game in March when
32,523 saw them beat the New York Red Bulls 3-0.

The Sounders say they are the first team in MLS history to
have 28,000 or more fans at five consecutive matches.
Seattle has sold out all its matches through June 28.

Seattle will use the entire stadium’s capacity – 67,000 –
for its two international exhibition matches this summer:
July 18 against Chelsea and August 5 against FC Barcelona.
