The Seattle Sounders have a new look for the start of the 2014 season.

The team debuted their new “pitch black” kit featuring black jerseys with green trim, paired with green shorts and black/green striped socks on Monday.

This third kit will be sported by the team this season along with their primary and secondary kits from the 2013 season, the Rave Green and Cascade Shale.

The team says the new kit is light and features Adidas ClimaCool technology to manage temperature and moisture.

It also features small details marking the team’s history in Seattle, including a 40th anniversary patch, and a “soundwave” design near the collar to represent the energy of the fans.

Sounders pitch black jerseys are now available for fans to purchase online and also at the Pro Shops.

The Sounders kick off their season this Saturday at noon at CenturyLink Field against Kansas City. Listen to the game on 97.3 KIRO FM.
