Hot off his big opening goal for the U.S. in the World Cup, Sounders player Clint Dempsey is dropping a track from his new rap album.

The song “It’s Poppin'” is now available for download from Dempsey’s website deuceandxo.com. Dempsey goes by the name “Deuce.”

The Wall Street Journal says Dempsey recorded the 13-track album over two-weeks in the offseason.

“We just were having fun with it and it ended up being an album,” Dempsey told the WSJ.

Dempsey, in his second season with the Sounders, and currently serving as captain of the U.S. Men’s National Team at the World Cup, says he’ll be releasing the full album in the coming months.

KIRO Radio’s Ron Upshaw said that Dempsey’s track was not as bad as he would have thought.

“It may not be your style,” said Upshaw. “But I got to thinking he’s not even close to being the worst musician-athlete out there.”

So The Ron & Don Show took a look back at a few other musician-athletes that have offended our ears over the years.
