Video: Mariners’ Nelson Cruz hammers 3-run homer vs Dodgers

Nelson Cruz didn’t have the best start to his spring, but he might be heating up.

The Mariners slugger parked a three-run shot off Dodgers pitcher Luis Avilan in a 6-3 win Monday, marking his second homer of Cactus League play. While he’s still hitting just .103 in 29 at-bats in spring training, it was a good sign he could be returning to the form that produced 44 homers last season.

Also a good sign: Adam Lind followed up with a mammoth home run of his own in the very next at-bat, going back-to-back with Cruz for the Mariners surely hope is the first of several times this season.
