Video: Mariners’ Robinson Cano hits his first home run of the spring

Robinson Cano’s 2015 campaign was far from his best, but one bright spot was that his power returned in his second year with Seattle, hitting 21 home runs, seven more than the previous season.

He flashed that power again on Saturday, drilling an offering from Angels lefty Nate Smith over the right-field bullpen in Peoria for a two-run homer, his first of the spring. It was the second hit in three games of Cactus League play for Cano, who finished 1 for 3 in the 9-7 loss to the Angels before being replaced by Luis Sardinas at second base.

Cano and the Mariners will continue spring training action at 12:05 p.m. Sunday against AL West rival Texas. The game will be broadcast on 710 ESPN Seattle.
