Seahawks announce signings of CB Terrell Thomas, OT Eric Winston

RENTON – One of the youngest teams in the league made a few veteran additions in the first week of training camp, the Seahawks announcing they’ve signed cornerback Terrell Thomas and offensive tackle Eric Winston.

Thomas was a second-round pick in 2008 who was with the Giants the past six seasons, while Winston has played eight seasons in the NFL, the first six of those in Houston.

Seattle also added an undrafted rookie receiver Randall Carroll, who is from some place called Sul Ross State, which is apparently a public school in Texas that is named after a Civil War general, Sullivan Ross.

The Seahawks had to make room on their 90-man roster for the trio, placing receiver Taylor Austin on injured reserve and waiving offensive lineman Bronson Irwin and cornerback Chandler Fenner.
