Video: Mariners’ Dae-Ho Lee hits mammoth blast for first career MLB homer

The Mariners’ offense struggled in Friday night’s 3-2 loss in their home opener vs. Oakland, but Dae-Ho Lee at least provided one instance of production.

Lee hit his first career MLB home run, a mammoth solo shot to center field in Seattle’s two-run fifth inning. The hit, which was also the first of Lee’s career, was one of only four the Mariners had on the night.

Seattle hopes there’s plenty more homers to come off the bat of the 33-year-old Korean first baseman. It was that kind of power that convinced the Mariners to give the 6-foot-4, 250-pound Lee a shot in the majors after 15 years playing pro in Korea and Japan.
